Syncing Issues with Forerunner 310XT and Garmin Express Version 4.50

Forerunner 310XT not syncing with Express version 4.50 (Using ant stick): Help appreciated.....

Short version:

Workout data files are uploading to the fit_type_4 folder within ProgramData folder, but are then sitting there and not arriving in my connect account. Having to manually find, rename and upload them which is a pain.

Longer version (in case the details help!?)


Has worked for several months (not without issue, but generally nothing that some simple workarounds can't solve)

This weekend suddenly my workouts stopped being transferred to Garmin Connect. Spend AGES trying to resolve. Reinstalled Connect, linked/unlinked device etc etc but during 'transfer all' option the device would shut down after about 50% of progress (taking 30+minutes each time), or prompt me to re-sign-in to connect, which would then crash again. Even tried downgrading to Ant Agent which has successfully found 'missing' files for me in the past when experiencing problems with express - no joy.

Eventually found that my workouts were indeed uploaded to my laptop and located in the folder: ProgramData/CoreService/Devices/(serial number)/sync/fit_type_4

Was able to rename each 'missing' file with a .fit filetype and manually upload to connect. I then did a factory reset on the 310, wiped everything and started again with it today for my bike commute to/from work. Connected to connect, transfer took place but again files went to the ProgramData folder mentioned above but not to express. Have manually uploaded again but am keen not to have to do this from now on!!

    I am sorry for the troubles. Sync issues with these symptoms were for the most part resolved with Garmin Express version 4.0.25. Currently Garmin Express is at version 4.1.3. If you continue to have this issue I suggest you contact us by phone and have the issue investigated. You're trouble shooting is right on and I can think of nothing off hand that would be blocking the upload to Garmin Connect from the FIT_TYPE_4 folder. Letting the Software Support group take a look would be the quickest way to a resolution.

    I have the same problem since a couple of days. Though I haven't been able to locate any uploaded files in my computor. A part from that all other symptoms are the same.

    same issue - 310XT will not sync with new express version

    I am having the same issue... worked fine for months and now... transfer starts on watch (i.e. says 'transferring') but data remains in watch without being deleted nor making it to connect. Where I download the old express version?

    I have done all of the troubleshooting advise... nogo :(

  • Works fine, you possibly have a browser issue. Could explain the issues you're having. What browser are you using? Are you able to try others?
  • The link it self works but i get the message "We are unable to process your request. Please try again." from the Garmin Support FAQ page. I was assuming that the link was pointing at a specific support case.
    I use IE 11.

    Perhaps fixed my 310XT/Ant/Express issue

    In the past two months I have only occasionally successfully transferred into Connect. I tried the usual remedies: reinstalled Connect, unlinked and linked the device, did soft and hard resets, followed the manual transfer instructions. Finally deleted the Sync folder and the data moved into Connect. Hope springs eternal….
