i have a problem in connecting fenix3(sapphire) to garmin express (v 4.0.25.0)
when i connect my device , garmin express shows this message:
"this device is not compatible with express"
my pc:win7
  • I am sorry for the troubles. Currently Garmin Express will display that message if when the computer is set to display certain languages. The Garmin Express team is looking in to getting this resolved but if you would like to work around the issue you can change the Region and Language Control Panel to English - United States, add the fenix3 to Express, then change it back. Some users have had to uninstall Express, change the language, then reinstall but not all.

Does the fenix3 also sync with Connect through WiFi or Garmin Connect Mobile? Have you ever had the fenix3 setup on this computer in this location before? Please read through the FAQ: What should I do if I receive a server error while using Garmin Express?

I can not setting wifi on my device because of Garmin express problem. but i synced it with garmin connect mobile.
This is the first time that i want to sync fenix3 with garmin express on this computer. also i read that FAQ.
I'm from iran that i have to use proxies to connect garmin sites. i think using of proxies is the main reason of my problem about garmin express. If it's true, please help me about solving this problem.
  • If you need to use proxies ensure you go to Settings in Express and set it up correctly. You can choose auto, off or manual ...

My Garmin fénix 3 HR has been working fine for years and connected to Garmin Connect and Garmin Express normally.

Recently it won't connect to either Express or Connect.

Error message I get in Express is "This device not compatible" when connecting with the cable. Similar message in connect when trying to connect with Bluetooth. I tried Express both in Windows and Mac computers.

I called Garmin Support and they instructed me to manually delete the device.fit and garmindevice.xml files from the watch and reboot it. It doesn't solve the problem. I also tried a complete factory reset and nothing.

I called again and funny enough my device ID (taken from the watch about menu 3932810184) is different from the device ID recorded in Garmin central database (3932801992).

I tend to think that's the problem and have asked Garmin to correct it (in the central database I guess). They claim they cannot do that and only propose I exchange the watch for a new one.

    Can anybody help?

This is very frustrating. I don't think this is a watch physical issue but rather a Garmin central database issue and I hesitate to exchange a watch that works perfectly other than the Connect and Express connectivity issues.

    Thanks in advance,

    /Enrique
