nüvi 2589LM - Device not compatible with garmin express

Hi,

Yesterday I bought a new Nüvi 2589Lm but I can't connect to G. express. Its saying: This device is not compatible with Express. Please contact Customer Care for help.

I tried : install as Admin, changed the cable, used different USB ports(2 and 3 too) but have a same error?

Honestly I'm a bit disappointed after several years I've changed from TomTom to Garmin and a first attempt I find this annoying error.

Any help or idea?

    Got the same problem with a Nüvi 2699 LMT-D.

    Can use the web updater, as well as myDashboard, via the communicator plugin, but Garmin Express gives me the not compatible with express "error", hence I can't update maps nor register the device.

    I am sorry for the troubles. An issue has been discovered where Garmin Express will display that message when the computer is set to display certain languages. The Garmin Express team is looking into getting this resolved but if you would like to work around the issue you can change the Region and Language Control Panel to English - United States, add the device to Express, then change it back. Some users have had to uninstall Express, change the language, then reinstall but not all.

  • The issue with Garmin Express displaying the message "The device is not compatible with Express. Please contact Customer Care for help." has been resolved. If you continue to have troubles please contact Garmin Product Support by phone so the issue can be more thoroughly investigated.
