I still have one problem that I cant for the life of me figure out. My PC can see my 1000 as a Garmin Mass storage BUT when I go to Garmin Connect and see there is a new update for the 1000 I press the sync button and the Garmin Connect activates Garmin Express which Doesnt Find my 1000. I searched the forums and see issues that the PC doesnt see the Garmin Mass Storage but I dont see anyone with my problem. I updated the drivers, downloaded latest version of Garmin Express, tried diffrent cables, Even downloaded the Browser Plugin and I downloaded Firefox Browser since it wasnt working with Internet Explorer. Would like to setup wifi on my 1000 so I can update the new firmware 3.0 and any future updates without touching my wifes PC which is Windows 7 (I updated all drivers on her PC so there wasnt anything I missed on that antique). Im lost
I am sorry for the troubles. It sounds like you have hit most of the troubleshooting we have for this issue but there are a few things left to try. Below is a link to our FAQ on this issue. The first portion of the FAQ discusses when the computer does not detect the hardware. You would skip past that section and move on to why the Garmin applications are not detecting it.
