Problems during updating map (2016.10)

Hi,

I'm having troubles dowloading maps on my Zumo 590 using the last version Garmin Express on Windows 8.1 and also on my mac.

I have a lifetime map update and I succeeded to download many updates till now (I currently have Europe map 2015.40), zero problems always satisfied.

With the last map 2016.10 I'm facing problerms during dowloading files:

- sometimes stuck at 0% with data tranfert rate 0 Kb/s
- sometimes reach 47% of download and then it disconnect from server after several hours

My personal Computer (and my macbook) is rock solid as my internet connection (please dont reply with question or suggestion about firewall, wifi/wired, proxy or whatever).

I'm convinced that there is something wrong with garmin download servers and I'm asking:

- are you going to fix this issues?
- is there an alternative way to have this map update?

  • First, there is no alternative way.

    Second, while it's always possible there is an issue with the servers it's most unlikely, the vast majority of issues are at the user end. You can check if you have a connection to the Garmin servers here http://omt.garmin.com/

    The URL given, shows this on browser:

    Your computer can connect to Garmin Express servers!

    As last chance, I will try using another internet Connection (my work place).

    I was finally able to download the map update. With a brand new Garmin Express installation and a very fast business lan. It took the whole night since download was very slow but this time there were no interruption.
