Can Unlock Map

Have always used Garmin Express with great success. Now I am required to download new software in order to install a map. The new software is Base Camp and Map installer. Installed. A drop down window tells me there is a locked map is detected, specifically, "City Navigator North America NT2014-1. I attempt to unlock the map but then I am told that I need to enter my Garmin GPS serial number, model number and then a product key code. Have no idea where to find the product key code. Spent 1:30 minutes on Google attempting to find a solution with no success. (Garmin Nuvi 2460LMT) Why does this have to be so complicated when it was previously so simple? I don't need all the base camp stuff, all I want is a correct map when I travel.
Can someone please give me a simple solution?

I emailed Garmin Support but their site is difficult to navigate and you have to enter problem through a list of issues. The only one close was city explorer so don't know if my email will end up with the correct department.

    Why are you required to use BaseCamp and MapInstall? Do you have Windows XP? If you have Windows Vista or newer, you should still be able to use Garmin Express. And even with XP you can use Garmin MapUpdater.

    You should be able to find your unlock code and keys by logging into your account on my.garmin.com

    Unless you are wanting to install the older 2014.10 maps you can skip the unlock prompt. You do not need it. If you want to unlock the maps in BaseCamp and MapInstall then you would click the "Retrieve Unlocks" button instead of "Unlock Maps" on the Unlock Online webpage. The unlock code for 2014.10 has already been generated for the 2460 so you just need to retrieve it for use in the programs. The Product Key is not needed, only that the page recognize the Unit ID for the 2460 and that you enter the serial number.
