GE 4.0.19 and 4.0.20 again don't work like he must

There could be something blocking Garmin Express from detecting the micro/SD card in your device. Have you tried the troubleshooting our FAQ:

Before i update maps i update to version 4.0.20 and i think this is reason for all problem.

I do this:

- uninstall version 4.0.20, restart Pc and instal version 4.0.11
- i get error that my device is not supported
- uninstall, restart Pc and install version 4.0.19 this time detect SD card
- when start download i get 4x error and must run update from start
- then all go OK and i have new map on SD and other data on device
- Now when i open basecamp i get error that previous installed map 2015.40 is locked ( why? )
- after some research i found that map is downloaded in two places: Program data/Garmin/ and Users/All users/Garmin/
in both places is 2016.10 gmap folder and installation files.
- i didn't change install path in GE, so something is wrong in one of this version becouse after download with 4.0.19 and 4.0.20 i have downloaded maps in two different path.
- when i look on device i see that gmap3d have the same time like files in Program data/Garmin/ folder and ASR files have the same time like files in Users/All users/Garmin/ folder.
- So when GE start to send files to device he take some files from one folder and some files from other folder.

Conclusion:
The best GE version that work with no problem is version 3.0.29 all other 4.x.x version create problem when you try to update maps.

Find where is problem with GE v 4.x.x.

This new version don't know how to delete maps on SD from folder Garmin.
If you manualy delete old map from SD then Garmin express detect SD card, if you don't delete old map manualy GE don't detect SD.

Can you repair this in new version of GE?

The maps are not installed in two different places on your computer. The C:\Users\All Users folder is a symbolically linked location to C:\ProgramData. If you look at the properties on the All Users folder, you will see it is a shortcut to C:\ProgramData. The maps are only installed in the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps folder.

As for the issues with detecting the SD card, I will provide this information to the Express team for research. It sounds like Express does not calculate that enough space is available on the SD card until the old maps are removed. We will look into this.
