There was a problem communicating... in Basecamp after updating from Express

Hi, everyone:

I wasn't sure where to post this, so if anyone can redirect me to the appropriate forum, I'd appreciate it.

Anyway, I have a 2595 that Garmin Express said I had some updates. After I installed the updates, I got the "There was a problem communicating with the Garmin device..." error. Researching this issue, I believe it to be file corruption. I read a FAQ that listed some of the files that it could be (gpx, jpg and one other file) and their locations, but I didn't see any files with those extensions listed in the folders that were mentioned. So the problem appears to be with a botched update. I would just re-download it if Garmin Express would let me, but I guess it installed well enough for it to make Garmin Express believe that the software was installed correctly.

The other issue that came up after the update was that my 2595 no longer cleans up after itself when I transfer data, disconnect and reboot. The next time I connect to Basecamp, the temporary files are still there and I see nothing related to my device. Usually I can see read only versions of my saved places.

The updates were:

Traffic Text, All Languages, GLX, V1 5.60
Time Zone Map 16.00

Software version is 8.20

I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give.

Thanks!

Bill
