Issues with 310XT syncing on GE 4.0.20.0

So my issue is that after syncing, Garmin Express asks me to log in again, but then never sends my data to my profile. I am positive I am using the right profile as suggested by others so that is not it.

I tried logging out and logging in in Garmin Express and online to the same profile, but that didn't help.

I then reinstalled the application, and it uploaded my runs to the right profile after install. HOWEVER on subsequent syncs, it reverted back, and says that it has trouble logging into my profile, asks me to login and then syncs, but then doesn't add the runs to my profile.

Unlike other good syncs though, it doesn't say sync complete after it syncs, so I wonder if this has to do with it.

Please help, as I feel having to uninstall and reinstall the app all the time is rather frustrating. Thanks.

Same thing with my 310xt today after it said it was updating maps. I have spent hours uninstalling, reinstalling, trying another computer, and back to the same error. It says it's transferring data - then after about 5 seconds it pops up an error - "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect." Really frustrated with the time that has to be spent in researching the problems with this website.
  • There may be a file that Express is unable to upload that is causing that error and preventing any other data from syncing. Try deleting this folder "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\[Unit ID]\Sync" and syncing again.
  • Had the same problem with my FR-410 after the maps update yesterday tried everything from force send too deleting program and pairing the device again.

This seemed to fix the issue for me. When syncing I moved the watch further away from my wireless router. Tried transferring a few workouts and all went with minimal problems

Weird since it worked fine in the same spot before the update

    Hope this helps

Tried this and still continue to get the "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect" message in Express. Ugh.

Still waiting on a GE update...

Me too - I've checked the latest version of the software, etc. Given Garmin Connect every permission possible on my browser.

This keeps happening on Garmin. The only time I could send courses to my 310xt was when using the original primitive version of Garmin Connect. Can it be bought back? At least then everything would work how it should!

GARMIN - SORT OUT YOUR ORGANISATION! PROPER TESTING SHOULD BE CONDUCTED BEFORE YOU RELEASE A NEWER VERSION OF YOUR SOFTWARE! SACK THOSE WHO MESS UP - IT IS NOT HELPING YOUR ORGANISATION AT ALL.

Since the 4.0.20.0 update, i've had this issue a couple of times. I've had to remove the software and garmin data from my computer to then reinstall and do the pairing process in order for it to work. I hope the solve this soon. It's really annoying!!
  • I too have a 310XT, Garmin Express 4.0.20 (PC) and are having great troubles getting runs uploaded.

I was getting the repeated prompts to login to Garmin Connect (via GE) - logging in did nothing and activities which had been downloaded to my PC aren't uploaded.

I've renamed the Sync folder in "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\[Unit ID]\" to Sync.old. GE has recreated the Sync folder (and one called Download in it).

GE claims to be syncing and then proudly displays this error:

    " />">

As somebody who works in IT, error messages like that drive me up the wall. At least give me some clue as to what the error is!

More messing around did look to have made progress:

    " />">

Has my last run turned up in Garmin Connect? Nope.

    " />">

What looks to be my run is in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Devices\DeviceID\Sync\FIT_TYPE_4 (it's the only file in there).

{Edit} - the file in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Devices\DeviceID\Sync\FIT_TYPE_4 is not my most recent run, it's one from 16 September 2014. Huh?

However, I went digging through the sync.old I'd created above and did find my most recent run to upload.

Please get these problems fixed Garmin! It's taken more time to upload my last run then I actually spent running. Not good Garmin!
