Maps not updating

Hi all, i bought my Edge touring plus about 4 months ago and since the weather has gotten better i've been using it a bit more. I've hit a major problem recently after i tried to update my maps. The map appeared to update as it should but when i turned the unit on all i have access to is A roads and motorways and the European routing map that i'm supposed to have downloaded is nowehere to be seen in the settings.

I've tried reinstalling on 4 occasions now with the same result.

Can anyone tell me how i could go about manually updating the maps as it's obvious that using express is making no difference and my Garmin has been reduced to a very aerodynamic paperweight.

Thanks

I had the same problem too. Keep trying. After a system reset I updated once more and it works ok now.

I've always been able to do that in the past when it's happened but this time i've reset factory settings 3 times and reinstalled the maps through express to no avail.

I am sorry that you are having trouble updating the maps. The most common cause of this issue is if your computer is write-caching. Basically, Windows reports back to Garmin Express that the file copy to the device is complete but windows is still writing to the device in the background. To resolve this issue, make sure that you safely remove the device from the computer before unplugging it after doing the update. To safely remove the device:
    • Press the Windows key + E
    • Right-click the Garmin device
    • Click Eject (if there is no Eject option, the device does not need to be ejected)

If this does not solve the problem, you can try running a check disk on the device in case there is some corruption.

If you are still having trouble, it would be best to contact support by phone so that we can troubleshoot.
