The device is physically in good condition and battery seems ok...never had a problem until tried to update maps (as the device was requesting) it said memory was full so introduced SD card but card would not work (I think card may be full and cannot delete files on it). After fiddling around for a while software on the device stopped loading at all ! So now, I only get the white and blue Garmin logo and nothing beyond that...I think I hear a faint click which may be a hard drive starting or attempting to start, I don't know. The other result of this is that Garmin Express does not see the device when I connect it to my iMac. Is it possible to reload the operating system via cable of chip ? The reset function does not work just hear the click sound. Hope this is enough detail. I tried Garmin France where I live but the were not very helpful !
Fiddling around for a while? Just exactly what did you 'fiddle' with?
I suspect you've managed to brick your nuvi although I hope I'm wrong. First I'd remove the card. Next try a master reset again without the card installed. If still no joy then it's likely you'll need to contact Garmin France again and have the unit repaired, although as the 1390 is quite an old device it may be more cost effective to buy a new one.
Sarcasm is not very useful nor is the expression "brick" whatever it means.
Wasn't meant to be sarcastic but to establish what you've done. To 'brick' something means you effectively turned it into a brick. I see Lisa's sent you a PM so she may have an idea that will help. Without knowing more about what you've done I can't help further.
