in the past few days Garmin express syncs with my watch and supposedly downloads my workouts, but then i cannot find it in my calender or my activities. twice its says it has trouble authenticating my device and asks me to sign in, which i do; no help. i have removed my device and reinstalled it: no help. It's a 310xt. never had a problem in 2 years.

The authentication and possible sync issues may be caused by some files left on the computer after a successful sync. Please see the FAQ: Where do my activities go on the computer before they are uploaded to Garmin Connect? If all your activities have uploaded to Connect you can delete any files in the folder. This should fix the repeated prompts to authenticate your account. If you have regularly used your device for the last two years make sure you are deleting activities from it once they are uploaded. Running the device low on memory may increase the possibility of it including corrupt data in an activity file. A good rule of thumb is to delete anything older than 30 days.

As for the Workouts being sent from the Calendar, try deleting all the Workouts from the device before sending from the Calendar.

    Sorry for the troubles.

    Curt,
thanks but its still not working. It says that they are having a problem connecting to my account and asking me to reauthenticate, which i do by signing in and still nothing. its frustrating because it just stopped after April 25th. i have deleted all files on my watch more than 30 days old. i also went into the Garmin folder and eleted the folder called device_data_store. Its sitting in my recycle bin.

I have the same problem as described above and also with Forerunner 310xt, strangely this weird behaviour also started on April 25 in my case. Express starts to transfer data but does not succeed and asks for authentication to Garmin Connect. When I have successfully logged on to GC, Express has ended the connection and seems to mark the activity as transferred to GC. I have deleted all activities older than a month and without success. I have also deleted all from the sync folder on my PC as instructed above. I have also looked at the log files at the time of failure and all say "Exception occurred watching task." and " Error syncing device.". Please help, I'm loosing more and more of my activities as this continues.

I am sorry for the troubles. Garmin Express 4.0.20.0 was released yesterday. Please make sure Express is up to date. The next step in resolving the issue is to remove the device from Express and Connect ,delete the Sync folder in the FAQ: Where do my activities go on the computer before they are uploaded to Garmin Connect? ,then Master Reset the Forerunner 310XT. Pair the device with Garmin Express and Connect again and normal syncing should resume.

If you are missing activities from the device in Connect, you can manually import the files from the folder mentioned above. You must add the .FIT file extension to the file name before importing. If a file will not import, delete it from the folder. The Import option is in the upper right of the Activities page.

Again I am sorry for the troubles.
