Express and Edge205 and windows8

Is there any reason why I shouldn't be able to use my Garmin Edge205 via Express with Windows 8?

I'm just about at the end of my patience with this, I've tried everything I know to get it to work. I've cleared the registry of errors, restarts, uninstalls and re-install of Express software.

The last go i had with this today, i re-installed express, connected my Edge, and it found it. It said it had synced, but there's nothing in Garmin Connect, I realise it can take a while to show, so I left it and got on with adding my son's Edge 205 to Express with the 'add device' button. Does it find it? of course not.

So I closed Express and restarted the program. Now is doesn't work at all. All I get is "An unexpected error has occurred.......etc"

I've had to go down this route due to the withdrawal of plugins for Chrome, I'm now reduced to either taking my Garmin to work and using it under Windows 7, or using the old Training Centre software, neither of which are particularly speedy.

I've lived through the 'old days' of battling with program, drivers and connections, I'm amazed I still have to do it with new software.

Thank you Albert. If I the problems continue I'll do that.

Last night, for the first time, I saw it working correctly. When it does so, it's very impressive and I understand the meaning now when people describe the use as "seamless".

One of the major issues for me has been the complete lack of feedback from the programs when they don't work, or perhaps it's fairer to say that I have no idea what feedback (confirmations) I should be expecting. For example, knowing that a little window comes up at the top of the screen (in Windows8) to say that that I had synced with Connect would have helped a lot when I was trying to get things right.
