Garmin Express can't sync with Garmin Connect

What is the deal here? Express and my Forerunner 110 syncs fine, but now, every time I try I get an error message saying that there was an error when trying to sync with Garmin Connect. This used to work fine. It's only been, for me, the last couple of months. This needs to be fixed. Oh and saying that it can be updated manually ISN'T a fix.

I checked out the Segments and Courses you have in the Sync menu and the Groombridge to home Course appears to be corrupt. I suggest you delete it then create it manually from Course menu.

  • I'm intrigued about why so many people are experiencing "corrupt" files all of a sudden. If that truly is the issue then there are a number of concerns that I have, given that this doesn't seem to have been a major issue prior to the "upgrade":

    1. Is it Express that's corrupting the files?
    2. Is the latest version less tolerant of file issues that have always been there?
    3. Why don't I get a dialog box like one of the other users telling me how to fix it?

Something is clearly wrong with the latest garmin express update. Why else would all of our devices stop being able to sync at the same time?
  • Looking across the forum, Garmin clearly believe that there is suddenly a rash of corrupt files which stop Express in its tracks. My experience at work is that IT departments always blame user error first and are then forced to accept that there might be other issues. Unlike a work situation, Garmin control both the hardware and the software so if it's not Express that is the issue, there must be something wrong with their devices that corrupts activity files. Either way, it's not something that us as users can do very much to prevent it seems.

    @ OFFROADRUNNER,

Well that seems to be the hot word lately being used.

I cannot believe all these users have "corrupt" files.

At what point are they being "corrupted"????

On your device before you upload?

When you go to upload with Garmin Express do they get "corrupted"?

When they get to Garmin Connect Server are the files "corrupted" then?

It is day after day problems, problems and more problems.

No light at the end of the tunnel.

    If it is not:

    1. your time on the computer

    2. or it's the wireless mouse or keyboard you are using

    3. or your Internet is to slow

    4. or your virus or firewall is at fault

    5. or your backup program is causing the problems

    6. or your graphic driver is not correct

    7. or Administrator rights

    8. or the hot one this time around "corrupted" files

There are probable other reasons too.

Garmin Express should works in harmony with your computer and not have so many sensitive issues working with other software or devices.

But remember user’s your only a few that have these problems.

There are thousands where it works with no problems at all.

    You just don’t count....

But their come up with another version and then another version so on and so on.
  • Well, Express has now worked properly three times in a row after all the issues. Nothing seems to have changed on my PC or my Garmin so what's going on?

Worryingly, it insisted on updating after I used it last night to correct "serious issues" or something like that. Wonder what they were!!??

No "corrupted" files were killed in the resolution of this problem...
