What is the deal here? Express and my Forerunner 110 syncs fine, but now, every time I try I get an error message saying that there was an error when trying to sync with Garmin Connect. This used to work fine. It's only been, for me, the last couple of months. This needs to be fixed. Oh and saying that it can be updated manually ISN'T a fix.
Ever since yesterday I have been getting the "Garmin Express can't sync with Garmin Connect" message (the last time I successfully sync'ed was April 16th; my device is a Forerunner 305). Since April 24th I have been getting the error. I even installed Garmin Express on another laptop, that had never had Garmin Express installed. Now, I am seeing a new message: "Sorry, we're having a problem with communicating with our servers." So maybe this is an issue at the Garmin side rather than on the client side. Hopefully we will get some more informative message from Garmin about the issue.
I synced my 305 about an hour ago with no problem. I really don't believe there are temporary server issues that will fix themselves. Something else is going on that probably requires you to call support.
This has now started happening to me. I can sync my 705 perfectly from the Mac at work, but when I bring I try from the Win7 laptop at home it fails every time with "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect". I can connect to the website, I can browse my previous activities, everything works except new uploads. It *was* working up until about two weeks ago when I upgraded the laptop memory from 4 to 8GB, on the first boot the Garmin Express software told me it was a new installation and needed to be reconfigured, and ever since it has not worked. I've tried removing the Edge 705 from Express and re-adding it, it logs in, it says everything is uploading until the final error message occurs.
Just checked in to see if anyone had an answer. Looks like nothing has changed, just denial that the software is the problem. I can upload them with no problem. If there was a corrupt file, I would have seen.
I've done absolutely nothing to my PC or watch since I last had problems - however plugged in the Ant+ stick after a run on Saturday and...nothing happened. So I left it for a bit and after about 5 minutes it started to sync and hey presto it worked. That's the first time for a couple of weeks that it's successfully uploaded the latest activity. We'll see what happens after today's bike ride but given that it has misbehaved before then fixed itself then was gone again, I really don't trust it. Also in the absence of a way of forcing it to sync, it's like living with a teenager who will only do what you want when it wants to and sometimes not at all. Not what software is supposed to be about really.
Still not seen any sensible response from Garmin to acknowledge the growing number of users with various devices have an issue that is not of their making...
My 910 gave up synching a week ago, at the same time Chrome wouldn't run Garmin Connect. Clearing history, deleting, reinstalling, using Firefox as browser all failed. Problem is with Garmin Server, proved by uploading manually the "failed" data files from C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\Devices\3858419235\Sync\FIT_TYPE_4 directory (Windows 7 hidden directory) after adding .FIT as a file extension.
Recently had the same issue, I had around 4 runs to sync but it would not update and no error was noted. I deleted the activity history from the watch and did a trial. Synchronisation back to normal, it appears the memory was full.
For the last 2 weeks I've been unable to sync routes or segments. Get the error message "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect" on my 810. Express shows I have items to install and won't install them. Same problem using various internet browsers and on my Desktop PC and laptop. Have cleared all the data from previous riders from the 810 to free memory but no change. Tried reinstall of Garmin connect. Can't work out how to post screen shots from Garmin connect. Very frustrated...
Garmin connect shows I have 19 items ready to install but install all button causes the same error message "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect". My 810 is running software 3.6
