Another Sync Question

I've read through several of the threads here, but my issue doesn't seem to be an "all or nothing" issue like so many are having. Here's the "syptoms":

  • When I plug my Garmin into my PC (Windows 7), a "USB Device Not Recognized" pop-up comes up
  • Garmin Express no longer automatically loads
  • The PC then shows a "Garmin G:" pop up
  • If I click on the Open Folder link within that pop-up, I can view the files in my Garmin.
  • The "History" folder has all of the .tcx files, up to and including my most recent ride
  • When I click on the Express icon on my desktop, it loads, and it shows my 705 is connected, it shows I'm "Up to Date", and it shows I've synced today.
  • When I go to Connect, however, the only ride it shows is from a few weeks back right before I started having the issues described above.

I've done the "soft reset" as described in another thread with no results. I also did the "hard reset", but that didn't seem to effect anything either.

HELP! Any advice on how to proceed from here would be greatly appreciated!

Are you up to date on Express? Typically when there is a corrupted activity that is causing a sync error, it will throw an error in Express. Since it is not, we can try again once you are up to date on Express:
    http://download.garmin.com/omt/express/B/GarminExpressInstaller.exe

If that doesn't work you can try to upload the files manually as they may be corrupted:
How do I manually upload data from USB Mass Storage devices to Garmin Connect?
If they don't upload that way, they are corrupt and you can delete them from the device. Once the corrupted activities are gone, you should be able to upload through Express in the future.
