Nuvi 2455LMT not working after update to SW 8.20

I updated my Nuvi 2455LMT to Softwre version 8.20. Now, it takes about 20-30 seconds to turn on. Then it takes about another minute to initialize. Selection view map takes about 30 seconds after pressing before it brings the map up. After that, normal viewing of the map appears to work.

When using navigation mode, the map lags behind pretty severe.

Stopped and took picture about 1/4 mile down road

Again, stopped at corner about 1/4 mile down road

Stopped at stoplight about 6/10 mile from corner/turn.

Also notice the display is messed up in the upper left corner. Should be green like the rest of the top bar.

Unit actually rebooted while driving down the road later. Had to turn it off and back on because it wasn't responding after the reboot.

I have an 8G SD card installed where the maps reside. Unit was working fine prior to the update. I updated the maps and software at the same time. I removed all extras and I have performed a Hard reset on the unit. No help.

Normally issues like this after a software update are cleared by a master reset. I know you've done one but I'd try another one.

Looking at the dashboard is that the standard one or have you customised it in some way? If everything on your nuvi is standard and a master reset isn't solving the problem the unit may be faulty, contact Product Support for help.

It is one of the dashboards included within the unit. Nothing customized other than changing the location of the displays on along the bottom. Even doing the "master reset" does not clear any of my user data or settings. It acts like it has reset everything becasue I have to go thru setting location and all, but once thru that, all I have to do is change my dashboard to the one I'm using. I'll try doing the reset again and leave it completely default and see what it does.

Well a master reset should clear user settings. How are you master resetting your device? Are you following the steps here:

Master reset done both ways shown. Neither worked. Not worth sending unit in for repair...looks like I'll be buying a new GPS. Not happy about that...software update broke my working unit.

I've seen no other reported problems with this software. You could try rolling back to a previous firmware to see what happens then.

This issue probably won't need an exchange of the unit. That being said, since the master reset didn't work, please contact support so our automotive agents can assist you in this matter.

I've seen no other reported problems with this software. You could try rolling back to a previous firmware to see what happens then.

How can I roll back to a previous firmware??

It's not advised unless you're desperate, so since Albert has suggested you won't need an exchange of the unit I'd do as he suggests and contact Product Support by phone.
