310XT and latest update of Garmin Express - Can't transfer data anymore

Upgraded my Garmin express yesterday to 4.0.15.0 (I'm using Windows7).
Now it does not recognize my forerunner 310xt (software version 4.50).
Seams that GE will not acknowledge my ant stick tough Ican see it in device manager.
I get a message saying my device is not connected.
I have tried rebooting pc, using different usb port, still does not work

Master reset IS NOT an acceptable answer. I'm geting real tired of all this BS.

    Same problems here. Initially I got it to Sync by unistalling/re-installing the software. Now I keep getting an error message saying it needs to "re-authenticate" then it syncs but does not upload the data.
  • Had the same problem. Really annoying. I installed the ANT+ agent, which seemed to sync all my un-uploaded runs to GC. Then it just stopped recognising my 310XT! Grrr.
    Today, I went back and re-installed an old version of Express (3.2.29.0) which i had the d\l for in my C: drive luckily. However, that still wouldn't find the XT. So hard reset and now seems to work. Very frustrating!

    SUSSAMB. It was working absolutely fine until Express update itself to V4.05. Almost everyone on this thread has had the same issue due to GE update, so how you can say it is a problem on the device is beyond me. Please don't patronize your customers. We had hard earned money for your products, and can spend our cash elsewhere when he have to buy our next devices if this is your attitude.
  • For anyone having this issue, please try updating to the newest Garmin Express version 4.0.17. After doing this, if you continue to have issues, follow these steps to clear old data out of Garmin Express. Note that this will delete any devices in Express and they will need to be paired again with Express.

    First, we need to delete the device sync folders from Express:

    • Go to %programdata%\Garmin\CoreService\Devices
    • Delete any numbered folders in this folder


    Next, let's delete the device xml data:

    At %programdata%\Garmin\CoreService, there are two xml files we want to delete: devices_list.xml and device_data_store.xml. After deleting these files, restart the computer and run Garmin Express again. This will make you start with a "clean slate" on the program and you will have to pair the device with the application again.

    Please read my signature. I'm not employed by Garmin so you're not a customer of mine :)

    However just because it didn't work after you updated doesn't mean it's a problem with Express and since a master reset resolved it then it's more likely than not a device issue in your case.
  • Set my 310xt to transfer all and after an hour or so it got my latest session. Will see how it goes next time. At least no need for full reset.

    Message in the red part (in french) says that I can't upload data because of communication problems with garmin servers.
  • Same issues here. I am now doing a manual upload via the web interface.

    1) Log into connect.garmin.com
    2) Select Activities so it shows in full list mode
    3) Select Import (Top right)
    4) Browse garmin device for a folder called activities. On mine it was found in (Garmin Edge 820, Garmin)
    5) Click on browse and select the file to upload
    6) Click on Upload activities from file

    Its not a fix but it works!

    If someone from Garmin is reading this then please can you fix this as this is not the first time I have seen this issue and clearly it is effecting loads of people.
