Garmin Express 4.0.15 looses manual Proxy Settings

I just updated my GE to the latest version, but now the manual proxy settings within Express does not save.
I enter the details manually, but when syncing my device, Express gets the error "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect"
When I go back into settings, Proxy Settings is set back to Auto, and the Manual settings are gone. :confused:

    I haven't heard of this issue before, I would suggest calling into support so we can look at that further.

    Garmin express Settings will not allow the manual proxy settings to be saved. How do you save the proxy setting to the config file. We sit behind a corporate firewall and the version is 4.0.17.0 One of our IT guys has pasted in some proxy settings into the file into express.exe.config but garmin express failed to fire. How do I solve this?

    I am sorry that you are having trouble with the proxy settings. I have seen on some computers where Garmin Express is getting an access denied message when trying to write to the config file. Make sure that Administrators and System both have full control of the folder C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService and all of the sub folders/files. You could actually give Everyone full control too. If it is still not working here is the syntax for updating the configuration_settings.xml manually:
    -<Proxy>
    <SelectedOption>Manual</SelectedOption>
    <Url>server.name/.../Url>
    <Username>Username</Username>
    <Password>Password</Password>

    </Proxy>

    Make sure to completely shut down express from the tray icon (do not leave it running in the background) prior to making the change and then restart Express after you have saved your changes.
