Force Upload to Garmin Express? Automatically not happening....

Hi,

I was using Ant Agent, then purchased a Fenix 3 (which has since been returned). When I was using the Fenix 3, I was forced to delete Ant Agent and use Garmin Express. This worked fine for my devices (500, 910 and F3) but recently it has started to not be reliable for the 910.

Is there a way to force upload a workout(s) to Garmin Express?
Are there troubleshooting steps/tips/tricks to get the 910 to synch? The little dot is green, so the Ant stick is recognized and the watch is "seen" I assume.

Thanks...I appreciate any help.

I kept trying to sync the two devices and it suddenly started working. No idea why.

Disregard....having the issue again. Created some fake workouts to try and trick it too. I can't be alone. Ant+ is green but data transfer won't start. Even went into history and hit "transfer all". I had zero issues with this watch for years and Garmin Express has created a really bad experience.

I am sorry that you are having trouble syncing your device. Please try removing the device from Express, restarting your computer, and then adding it back to Express again. If this does not work, it would probably be a good idea to contact support by phone so that we can help you get this fixed.

  • I have only had my 910 for week. However, to encourage it to connect I have tried rebooting the watch, and turning off and on the Data Transfer. Eventually, if I am patient, it will connect. I am on an IMac.

I've had my 910 for almost a month now. I've had it not sync at least four times. Today I rebooted my computer and it worked, but I don't understand why that's a problem, as I restarted my computer yesterday evening anyway. Also, the forum sticky under Garmin Express that says you don't need a "Sync" button because it is automatic doesn't really help. What do we do when everything is connected but the "automatic" activity doesn't start automatically? Is there some other way to get it to decide to sync?

Had my watch nearly 3 years and only since ive installed express ive had problems! This is very annoying and just hope its gets sorted soon! Or is this just a ploy to get us to buy 920xt's?

Just tried removing my device then restating it, still no joy. I keep getting re authorisation please sign back in. I do this and still nothing! Have you got any answers moderator?
  • I am sorry for the troubles. There may be files from earlier attempts interfering with the sync process. Express stores files in a folder on the computer before uploading them to Connect. Please use the FAQ: Where do my activities go on the computer before they are uploaded to Garmin Connect? to locate files that were not uploaded. Technically, this folder should be empty after a successful sync. If there are any files then you can try to manually upload them. All files must have the .FIT extension before manually Importing into Connect. Use the steps in the FAQ: How do I manually upload data from USB Mass Storage devices to Garmin Connect? to manually Import to Connect. Connect will only upload valid activity files that have not already been uploaded. Regardless if Connect accepts the file(s) they should be removed as not to interfere with future syncing.

In addition to these steps you can resend all the activities in the History folder on the 310XT/910XT. I recommend deleting all but the last 30 days worth of History on the watch before resending. To prevent future sync issues. Delete the watch from Express and Connect, Master Reset it then add it back again. See the FAQ: How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express? and How do I master reset my Forerunner 310XT?

Again I am sorry for the troubles.
