Re-authentication required - nothing syncs on FR610

Today GE is trying to sync but halfway stops with the message 'Re-authentication required'. Even after authenticating myself the sync does not complete.
Have restarted the watch and the computer and verified I have the latest GE version.

As I wrote in another thread, I'm troubleshooting GE, GC and my FR610 more than I'm actually exercising...

Of course my watch is out of warranty, otherwise I would claim a new one.

Come on Garmin, why cannot you make anything work correctly?

Same problem here since March 19th. I have had nothing but trouble since they "upgraded" Garmin Express. And they took away the ability to manually synch. Once this happens GE reports that it synched so it won't try again - but there is nothing on GC. Totally sucks and makes me want to switch to another brand.

We are currently working on this issue. While we do so, a workaround is to try deleting the sync folder and trying again to see if this will correct the issue:
C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\CoreService\Devices\(unitID folder)\Sync

Thanks Albert, this helped at least to get rid of the re-authentication issue and upload two activities. I still once received 'Error syncing...' but as the activities got synced it might not have mattered. Let's see how it works tomorrow after next exercise.

Similar issue, my 610 is no longer instantly syncing when I turn on my computer. I have two run files that I can not upload, they are in the watch history but I can not upload them. I have created a test file of 20 seconds which has now synced, after I deleted the sync file as it was asking me to re authenticate.
My 800 works fine when I plug it in.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem with my 610 since 5/4/2015. Re-authentication is required whatever I do. Hope this could be solved as soon as possible. Albert sorry but I couldn't find the path you suggested.

i get this as well on the edge 810. I found the fit files are uploaded to ~\programdata\garmin\coreservice\something or other.. but it stops there and the following logs is produced. I was able to find the correct fit file and manually upload it but that is a real drag.

We have opened a case for this issue but it is clear that this issue is being caused by corrupt files on the device and/or computer. Keep in mind that the ProgramData folder is hidden so you will need to unhide hidden and system folders to be able to find it. You can also press Ctrl + R and type %programdata% into the run box to open the folder. If you are still having trouble, please contact support by phone and we will be happy to help you.

which clearly were "corrupted" by the update as everything worked fine before.... Try uninstalling express,Uninstall any older garmin plugins, deleting _ALL_ garmin folders inclusive c:\programdata\garmin ( location can differ in earlier versions of windows ) . reinstall express and setup device again. So far this has worked for me.

I have been having similar issues with my 610. I have reset watch (apart from hard reset deleting history), reinstalled Garmin Express and deleted the 'Sync' folder. This cleared the re-authentication errors and I eventually managed to transfer data from my watch. Today however it again fails to transfer data although GE tells me that it has synced. I have again deleted the 'Sync' folder but it makes no difference.
I find it hard to believe that so many people are having pc issues that corrupt the Garmin files. The common denominator here is the Garmin software!
Please Garmin look into this and stop blaming customers for the faults or Garmin will find themselves with much fewer customers.
