Not syncing, vivofit & FR15. Express trouble?

Been advised to post this here. SO I'll just copy & paste. Cause at this point I'm about to ask for a refund.

My husband has the vivofit, I have the forerunner 15. Both wont sync. Both are trying to upload 15 days worth of data for some reason, even though we sync daily. Both get an extra file to sync each time it tries to sync..... so if it started at 15....I sync & then it says there are 16.... then try to sync & it says 17.

Uninstalled express, restarted pc, removed ANT, removed usb connection for mine, made sure it was through the firewall, and it still says error connecting.

Accounts are correct, everything is ok this end. Even went back an express version...... but STILL this comes up.

My husband lost a days worth of activities.....all he did was sync. 1st April went totally like he'd done nothing. Not even one step?

I'm sick of this. Anyone else having so much trouble today like me?

Anyway yeah my FR now says 27 items & his says 36

I'm about to lose a challenge because I can't get my steps from yesterday & today?

Even Fitbit don't have this much trouble and they were the reason I went Garmin?




I've done so much more thinking it is me..... nothing changed on my laptop & this is really getting under my skin. WHat will be the point in going for a run & wanting the data if I can't even sync it? Error after error.

I've had this device since Feb..... my husband has had my vivofit since then..... I had it since Dec..... so they are not old or not taken care of. Please tell me it's not just me & there are problems on the Garmin end?
  • Now it's saying 41 items to sync....... it started off at 15 this morning..... each time I try......it gains a new one.

    DST change was today..... perhaps that is the problem? Who knows but this is just stupid.
  • Each time you try to sync, it creates a new file. Those files are what gets passed to Connect. If you're just sitting in a chair as you're trying to sync, the files would be identical to each other.

    Did Australia just switch to DST? There are a number of people who were having issues because of the switch in their countries. A number of people subsequently said syncing was working again without them doing anything so Garmin may have had to adjust the servers at their end. You should check that all your devices show the same time and timezone as that's essential for a successful sync.

    On my vivosmart, when these situations occurred, I simply deleted the extra files and kept the last one as it's cumulative anyway. Eventually, Express should process its way through the files.

    What version of Express are you using? If this is what I think it is, updating Express and deleting some old files should get you taken care of. Delete the following folders:
    C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\LegacyProxy

    If deleting LegacyProxy doesn't work you can also try deleting the following folder:
    C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\CoreService\Devices

    You should also ensure that Express is up to date:
    http://download.garmin.com/omt/express/B/GarminExpressInstaller.exe
