Garmin Express opens but can't do anything

I have installed Garmin Express on my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro multiple times and tried to get it to to work with no luck. The program appears to open (the icon shows up in the task bar), but no window opens and when you click on it nothing opens up. I haven't been able to find anyone with a similar issue here but was hoping someone had some advice.

I am sorry for the troubles. There have been only a handful of reports with installing and running Express on Pro tablets. I suggest you contact us by phone so we can take a closer look at the system and determine what is keeping Express from opening correctly.

I have the same problem with GE.
It does not like my Graphic driver.

Garmin needs to rework Garmin Express so it will work with every Graphic Driver.
I have the latest Graphic Driver for my Dell Laptop.

My problem with Garmin is that they say you have to change your setting to make GE work.
It is the other way around Garmin needs to get GE to work on all PC and Laptops all the time.

One other thing I have picked up on is I posted this at 8:28 am I am in Europe.
It show it on the screen when I save the post.
But after I log out it show 12.28 am.

In some of the posts Garmin is always telling you to check the computer time.
Because you will have problems with their server.

I think they need to check their server to reflect the time user's really post here.

This is the time I am posting

Update: I installed an older version of GE and it ran fine. The login box etc was extremely small, which is a common problem with this computer and the high res screen. But other than that, everything seemed to work. GE then did performed an update and it still worked fine.

That's normal. When you're logged in the forum adjusts the time to your local time, when you're not logged in it doesn't.

Same computer, same problem, same solution. Have used this computer for two years with no problems until I tried to run "updated"Garmin software.

Here I pay top dollar to get the "latest and greatest" sportswatch and:
*It can not achive a stable connection to my stock nexus5 on android 5.1
*The app Garmin provides for windows is a mess, they offer no help even if this is a known problem and I have to search elsewhere to find an old version that at least works(and pray it was not infested with malware).
*The app is not able to find my wireless so I have to manually add it.

Sorry for the rant, I mostly like the watch but the whole getting started and setting things up thing was a nighmare. I really hope you can do better. At least offer an older version of the app until you are able to fix it.
  • Same laptop here also, Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, and the same problem... The program appears to open (the icon shows up in the task bar), but no window opens and when you click on it nothing opens up.

By adjusting the screen resolution and scaling I was able to make the app to work and show the user interface.
  • same problem here with dell xps 13 (touch screen)

adjusting resolution doesnt help. i do see the thumbnail of program window when my cursor is on top of the express icon in taskbar. clicking on it does nothing tho.
