Garmin Vivofit will not Pair with computer

So I just purchased my vivofit and plugged the ANT USB stick into my laptop. I am running Windows 7. Vivofit paired just fine with my iphone. But no matter what I do, it does not want to locate or pair with my computer. Put my phone in the other room so that it was not conflicting with one another, but still no luck. The ANT usb stick is recognized, but just sticks at the one screen asking me to "Plug it in." Have gotten to the miraculous screen where it shows my vivofit, then asks to pair with it, but then even after that, the vivofit will still not pair. I am at my wits end with this thing right now, and just want it to work. Any help would be appreciated.
  • try place your vivofit just touching the ant+.....I found the bt in vivofit is quite weak.

I have the same problem as you! I am lead to believe it is because of Google Chrome that i am using as my default browser. If you make Internet Explorer your default it will work. Hope it works for you? I use my phone to get it and go on the net to see it.
  • I only use the ANT stick for my vivofit. I seem to recall that you can only be paired to one device at a time for the vivofit. So if you do succeed in pairing to your computer, the pairing with the phone will be lost.

I am sorry that you are having trouble pairing your vivofit. You can pair the device on your phone and your computer as long as you pair it to the same Garmin Connect account. What error message did you receive when you tried to pair the device (when it was found)? If you are getting a server error, make sure that your time, date and time zone are all correct. There is an FAQ here with more steps that you can take when encountering server errors.

If you are receiving any other errors or you just can't get the device to be detected again, make sure that there are no Bluetooth devices nearby that may be interfering. Also make sure that the device is in pairing mode by pressing and holding the button until it flashes pair and the 4 digit Bluetooth password. If you are still having trouble, I would recommend contacting support by phone for help.

Sorry I have been absent from posting. Since I started using it I have been busy with work and unable to try again. Just been using my phone for the time being. In a few days I will have time at home to mess around with it and report back my findings. Thanks everyone for your input so far.
