I cannot load a course into my new Edge 200. The device seems to operate fine and has logged an activity, but will not accept a course? Update seems to go well and reports that the device is up to date, but if i include a course I get the error message "There was an eror syncing with Garmin Connect" and the course remains in the cue. Is this typical of this device or is there a bug? Bummer because I was planning on a big ride today with brand new Garmin. Hopefully this will be an easy and rapid fix.
If the sync issue is just with the Edge 810 but you can sync with the Forerunner 310XT then there may be a corrupt file on the device. Please use the FAQ: How do I manually upload data from USB Mass Storage devices to Garmin Connect? to upload the activities from the Edge. If you come across a file that Garmin Connect will not accept then it is or has corrupt data in it and should be deleted.
I can upload my activities from the 810 without any issue using Garmin Classic, but when using Modern and Express I get the error message.
My main concern is that I am unable to transfer a course from Connect to my 810. This has only been an issue in the last couple of weeks (suggesting a software upgrade problem perhaps?).
Same problem here, I can't send my workout plan to my 405xc it says that "there was an arror syncing with Garmin Connect" I can upload my activities from the device to garmin connect without any issues. With Garmin Express or with the AntAgent. but there is no way I can send my training plan to my device...
This feature is about the only reason why I bought that watch in the first time... and it getting annoying.
I am sorry that you are having trouble with Training Plans. There is an open case for this issue with the older devices. Currently, you can only send one activity at a time through Modern Garmin Connect. However, if you set up your calendar and then switch to Classic Connect you can send the calendar and use Ant Agent to install the calendar data. Make sure not to choose Workouts from Classic Connect as this will send you back to modern but if you choose Calendar, you can click the send button at the top right corner.
I am sorry for the troubles. Please see the FAQ: What should I do if I am unable to sync my mass storage fitness device using Garmin Express? If you continue to have troubles please contact Garmin Product Support by phone or provide details regarding your specific issue.
Garmin Connect refuses to send courses to a 310xt via Garmin Express right now. Not even a course with a 3 letter name (names have been problems in the past) and only 4 points in it. This is completely unacceptable, Garmin. Stop breaking stuff.
We have been unable to duplicate this issue with the Forerunner 310XT. Just now, I sent a course with 3 points named Test to my Forerunner 310XT with no errors. Try the troubleshooting on our FAQ What can I try when my ANT Fitness device will not sync with Garmin Express?
If you continue to experience problems sending courses to the Forerunner 310XT, contact Product Support by phone for further assistance.
I am able to reproduce it 100x a day with my 310xt, and one of your CS reps emailed me to say that this was a known issue, and that the workaround is to use Garmin Connect in "classic" mode, but this doesn't work because the Garmin Communicator plugin doesn't find the 310xt with Garmin Express, apparently.
There is no point in my trying the troubleshooting guide you mention (again) because I am not having trouble syncing in general. Activities are uploading fine. Obviously, the connections are there. The problem is that Garmin Express or Garmin Connect is creating corrupt courses or corrupting them during download. I can open the folder where they're stored and watch them land there with their little random names, but they NEVER load onto the device.
That USED to only occur when you had an occasional corrupt course -- as sometimes happened if you translated a KMZ to a TCX, uploaded it, converted to a course, and then tried to download it without changing anything. It used to be that you could fix those, by the way, simply by changing the name of the file, and Connect would re-do them somehow and they wouldn't be corrupt. However, I'm creating the simplest courses possible, right on the Connect site, and they download to my computer, then refuse to load onto the 310 xt.
