There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect

I cannot load a course into my new Edge 200. The device seems to operate fine and has logged an activity, but will not accept a course? Update seems to go well and reports that the device is up to date, but if i include a course I get the error message "There was an eror syncing with Garmin Connect" and the course remains in the cue. Is this typical of this device or is there a bug? Bummer because I was planning on a big ride today with brand new Garmin. Hopefully this will be an easy and rapid fix.

    I have a Forerunner 405 and today installed new Garmim Express software and getting today "There was an error synching to Garmin Connect". Worked fine with my device yesterday and had same error message with old software so that's why I thought the problem was that I had old version of Garmin Express.
  • I'm running 3.2.29 of Express. I have 2 activities today. One uploaded and the steps up to that point also uploaded. I have to charge my vivosmart so I decided to sync through Express. It stayed on "Waiting to Upload" until it finally errored out. Garmin hasn't said anything today yet but enough people are having issues that maybe the Connect Status page will say something soon.

  • I too was having problems sending course to my edge 810. After updating the software to no avail I just did the remove device and added it back. It worked like a charm. However this seems to be a recurring problem. How often should i anticipate having to do this onerous system reset?

    My thanks go to the person who posted the link on how to fix this frustrating issue.

  • After a software update I always do a delete then re-add of my devices. It only takes a second or two. Doing that has ensured I never get any issues.

    having the same problem. can't sync anything to my 810, either through garmin express (usb to mac) or via bluetooth from my iphone (comes up with a server error). Nothing works. spent best part of 1 hour trying to get 1 course on my garmin.

    Can somebody save me from insanity?!?

    this past month I have been unable to sync my Forerunner 305 using Garmin connect.

    I have followed the advice in this thread and am still having trouble syncing, just getting a basic "there has been an error syncing" type message

    I haven't yet tried a factory reset of my device and am loathe to do so as I have a month of runs on it

    Is there anything else I can try before resetting?

    You may not need to reset depending on what the error is. I would suggest contacting support to see if there is anything we can do if you don't want to reset.

    I have been having the same issue for months. Some days it works and others it won't. Sometimes my data shows up the next day. My data from 2 days ago appears to be gone but Garmin Express says it synced 5/11/15 at 8:22pm. I just went to upload a run from tonight. "Your Queue says Synced Today @ 8:36PM" but it has not appeared on Gamin Connect's website. There is a giant red banner across Garmin Express stating ! There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect. I am afraid the data is forever lost again. How do I fix this issue?
