Express not iinstalling!!!!!!

Well another problem has come up with Garmin Express

The Laptop with Garmin Express I use all the time for My Garmin Nuvi and Vivofit now has screwed up.
I started GE v4.0.7.0 like I always do.
Connected my Nuvi 2595LMT and started the update to City Navigator Europe NT (Unicode) 2015.40
It fails to update the Nuvi or install on my laptop.

So OK I will update to v4.0.8.0.
Well that did not work. I get this error

I have run the MS Fix and removed any files from GE because I could not uninstall it.
I am running as Admin. Firewall is off Virus program is off.
I even ran Wise Reg cleaner to make sure.
Rebooted my Laptop and started the install again.
Same error comes up.
So I gave up on that and ran the GarminMapUpdater.
Tells me I have the update Navigator Europe NT (Unicode) 2015.40.
But when I go to install it on my Nuvi 2595LMT I get this error

I have no problems with Navigator Europe NT (Unicode) 2015.30 on my Nuvi

Now what ever GE did to my Nuvi 2595LMT it removed something so now I can not update it.

I have never had any problems on this Laptop at all with any updated to my Nuvi 2595LMT.

I have spent all morning trying to fix this problem.

I have tried this update of GE v4.0.8.0 on another Laptop with no errors but can not update my Nuvi.
I will post that error also.
Ok I am over on my other Laptop and this is the error 2 mins into the install.

I am now trying to download to my Laptop only.
It has been 6 mins with no errors

Well on the 7th min the same error came up.

This needs to be fixed ASAP.

I did a restore of my Laptop from Last week.

    Now running GE v4.0.7.0
But I get this error after 2 mins of downloading

So I then update to v4.0.8.0.
90% of the way through the install it want a file called GarminElevatedInstaller.
    A name called "ElevatedInstalerWIX.msi"
    Which it can not find.
I searched all over the harddrive for this file, could not find it.

So now I am stuck. Can not Update GE v4.0.8.0 or run v4.0.7.0 with out Errors downloading update for Navigator Europe NT (Unicode) 2015.40.

    - open task manager and force close all GE stuff
    - go to control panel and add/remove and uninstall GE ( set to delete all files and configuration )
    - restart Pc
    - install net framework 4.5 if you don't have installed
    - install new GE version ( just click 2x on setup, don't click with right mouse button and run as administrator ) and try again download map ( only to device )
  • There is some discussion on ZumoForums about 4.0.8 not working as it should. Look forward to seeing an update before I try to load 2015.40 or I will use MapUpdater which seems to still be available - luckily.

In any case I never risk any update before a special trip and have one coming up in a couple of weeks.

Did all that and still it wants "ElevatedInstalerWIX.msi".

    Still get

And when I close that window I get this

Been at this all day and nothing works.

Express 4.0.8 updated my 2 nuvis and my PC without issue. Like you though I tend not to update before a trip.

Try using the Microsoft FixIt Utility to completely uninstall Garmin Express. This software is third-party and not created by Garmin. The software is licensed and created by Microsoft.

    • Go to the web page: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/
    • Click the Run now button
    • Click Run in Internet Explorer or download then open MicrosoftFixit.ProgramInstallUninstall.RNP.Run.exe1
    • Click Accept in the license agreement
    • Follow the provided instructions to select and uninstall the particular application

    When uninstalling Garmin Express select:
    • Garmin Express
    • Garmin Express Tray
    • Elevated Installer
    • Garmin Update Services (skip if not present)
    • ANT Drivers Installer x64

This program will need to be run again for each item on the list to be uninstalled.

Then try to install Garmin Express 4.0.8. If you do not have that installer already, it can be downloaded from here.

    @ EXPRESSCUSTOMERCARE,

I will give this a try later today.

But what I do not understand is on another Laptop with version v4.0.8.0 installed the software starts the download of Navigator Europe NT (Unicode) 2015.40.

But then it stops 2 mins. in with Red Error on install to Nuvi only.

If I run it again and tell it just to PC install it runs for 6 mins and then stops with the same red message.

Is there a problem with downloading Navigator Europe NT (Unicode) 2015.40??
Are to many user's trying to download???

I did a complete restore of my laptop.
    Went back one week.
    Start the laptop again.
Started GE v4.0.7.0 did not update to v4.0.8.0 yet.
Connected my 2595LMT and started the download again.
This time the download was working I watched it for over 1 hour.
It still had 1 1/2 hours to go.
I went out for a vivofit walk when I came back it showed the same error again.
But I clicked install again did not close it GE was left it open.
It picked up from where it had stopped.
It updated the 2596MLT with all the new files.
I hope there is nothing missing after it had stopped and I restarted the install.
It gave no other errors after that.

The only thing I did not do was update to GE v4.0.8.0. did not want the same problems I posted yesterday.
I will leave v4.0.7.0 installed for the time.
