I'm not sure which release of Express I am currently using but I last succesfully used it Oct 12th 2014. Now when I come to open it it requests an update. The version in the update window is 3.2.29.0. It starts to update and eventually I get a message box saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" and suggests I should search my pc for "RenuInstaller.msi". I have searched many forums and cannot find a solution for Windows 7 (my OS). I have tried installing different versions of Express all with the same outcome. Also, I cannot remove the current installation of Express as it does not appear in my list of installed pograms in the control panel.
If you have Express installed but the program is not showing in your installed programs under programs and features the program is fragmented. What I believe has happened is curtain parts of the installer have been removed from your computer. Usually this happens when some type of PC cleaner is ran on the computer. I am not saying this is what happened in your case but a majority of the time this is the cause of the issue. In any case Express will need to be removed from the computer 1st. The Garmin Express will need to be completely removed from the computer.
What I would recommend is try using the "Microsoft Fix it utility". In some cases this can clean up the files and will allow the program to be reinstalled. If you still get the same issue the next option is to clean the registry of Garmin Express. If this needs to be done I would highly recommend contact Product Support.
Mike, Thanks, the Microsoft Fix it Utility worked I had to run it 3 times to remove 3 different elements but in the end I could install the latest version directly.
