Always an update to the maps

Why is there always an update to the maps available when I connect my Edge Touring Plus to my PC (Windows 8.1)? Today I have installed a map update of over two hours and an update of one hour 11 minutes. When I safely removed the Edge Touring Plus, shut down Garmin Express and reconnected the Edge Touring Plus, there was another update of one hour 11 minutes! I am using Garmin Express 4.0.7.0 and when the update is completed, the map is given as software version 2.70, Routable Cycle Map of Europe 2014.30.

With a Forerunner 15, with 4.0.7, on a win 8.1 PC I see something similar. Every time I plug in to sync, it tells me there is a SW update available for the device (and there isn't one when I open GE). It's a bit anoying.

If I use GE 3.2.29, this doesn't happen.

It sounds like the .xml file isn't being updated on the computer showing that the update has been complete. I would suggest contacting product support if you have already removed and added the device from Express.
