Garmin Express & Virb Elite

I recently connected my Virb Elite to the PC not realising that Garmin Express was running (I normally shut it down as it prevents my Tanita scale from working).
Before I noticed Garmin Express had found about 20 old activities on the Virb and transferred them to Garmin Connect and Strava (which I then had to spend quite a bit of time locating and deleting).
Does anyone know of an easy way of stopping this from happening again?
Probably the best way to prevent this would be for Virb Edit to delete the fit and gpx files at the same time as it deletes the video file, then I wouldn't end up with loads of old files on my Virb.
  • One easy way is to never pair your Elite with Garmin Connect. Then when you plug it in, all Express will do is to check for firmware updates. Unpairing it from GC will prevent this from happening in the future.

I always delete video on my VIRB itself, using Setup->Card (?). I'm not in a position to check at the moment, but I think that doing that also blows away any fit/gpx files.

Thanks I'll have a look and see how I remove it from GC.

You can delete the VIRB from Express then add it back again. Choose to Skip the step prompting you to associate it with Connect.
