v4.0.6 Still issues with Vehicles and Voices

The issue with Vehicles and Voices continues. While v4.0.6 like previous versions will still update my maps clicking on Vehicles and Voices gets the error message 'We're having trouble communicating with our servers'.
  • Same here sussamb, although for me it is inconsistent even though I always use the same device, same computer, same cable, same Internet connection. Every now and then, the Vehicles and Voices function works as it should. Most of the time it fails with the "trouble communicating with server" message. It doesn't really matter much to me since I think these add-ons are silly and I don't use them anyway. But it does make me uneasy about the reliability of Garmin Express for the important functions of map and software updates. We all know what can happen if an update fails part way through the process. Garmin should acknowledge this error and let us know they are working on it.
  • I've never had it work. Yes, I agree about Garmin acknowledging this, it's why I opened this thread in the hope the Express team will comment.

    You and I will be OK as we tend to use clones but for the more 'normal' users a fail part way through an update can be catastrophic.
  • I am sorry that you all are having troubles with the vehicles and voices. Express version 4.0.7.0 was just released. Let me know if there are still issues with this version.

  • I have the same issue too. I just updated to 4.0.7 from 4.0.6 and no change; either right after the installation of 4.0.7 nor after a reboot of my PC. I'm using Windows 7 Pro. I also used CCleaner to clear cookies and clean the registry (there was nothing to clean) and still no joy.

    Updating my 3597LMTHD seems to work fine and check updates seems to work (for the 3597 as well as Garmin Express), but going to vehicles and voices results in the mentioned sync issue if my 3597 is plugged in.

    My 3597 is the only Garmin Device that Garmin Express interfaces with.

    Can you please stop work on garmin Express and give us back mapupdater?
    From first release of garmin Express this tool don't work like he must, bug after bug after bug and you never figure out how to repair this tool to work properly.

    Close your department that work on garmin express or hire new people, becouse after 3 years of garmin express tool this people still don't know how to make it work.

    p.s.
    Why you still work on version 4.x.x that don't work, why you removed function to install on Pc, why you can't repair server error that you have it in 4.0.2, 4.0.5, 4.0.6, 4.0.7?
    GE team don't test tool before release?
    Do you have all of us ( users ) for beta tester?
    If your team get pay for this work, you can also pay us for testing.

    GarminMapUpdater is still available. I and others have posted a link to it many times before. I and others still use it.

    Garmin Express was only released about 26 months ago (Jan 14th 2013).

    I'm not a fan of GE either but it pays to get your facts right.
