Garmin Express does not sync to Garmin connect

After long time I uploaded my activities to Garmin connect via Garmin express tools.
Then I have discovered that some activities are missing in GC, because I moved some files from my device (Garmin Edge 500) to my computer to save space.
When I have realized it, I copied the missing files back to my unit and attempted sync, but it failed.
Now it does not sync even the new activities.

Anybody has any ideas?

Manually upload the activities using our FAQ How do I manually upload data from USB Mass Storage devices to Garmin Connect?

If space is an issue, remove all the old activity that has already been uploaded to Garmin Connect to make room for future activities.

  • There needs to be a button in Garmin Express for over-riding the "automatic upload" to Garmin Connect, since the "automatic upload" does not work.

I've tried with two Forerunner 220's and a Vivofit, on different days at different times. Each time I've had to manually import the activities into Garmin Connect. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of Garmin Express, no?

I was able to sync some workouts from my calendar to my watch, but am still waiting to be able to sync activities from my watch to Garmin Connect.
  • I am sorry, but I feel like you did not read my post.

    thanks, but no thanks.
I really do not want to upload hundreds of activities one by one.
The only reason that I use Garmin Express is the automatic sync (since you butchered support on linux).

I did remove my old activities, but since I use garmin connect only occasionally (because I do not have Windows and you've butchered support on linux), they weren't synced yet.

So, why Garmin Express does not upload all my activities? And how can I force it to do so?
Even Strava can successfully sync all my data!
How come that sites like Strava are able to handle your devices better than you?

    Thank you.

Try this!! I found the 3.2.29 GExpress link via Google but you can PM me for it if you can't figure it out. Just Google "Garmin express 3.2.29.0 download." I got 3.2.29 installed tonight, after a complete uninstall of 4.0.5.0 including data, & my sync with the FR15 & then to GConnect worked flawlessly!! I cannot tell you how happy I am. I even got that amazing sync button back!! **happy dance!!**

Try this if it works for you:

On garmin connect. Go to profile. Then select switch to classic. Then on upper right hand of he connect screen, an upload button appears. Click that and select your device. Choose upload manually.
  • While uploading activities manually works, it defeats the whole purpose of Garmin Express.

And you don't have to switch to Classic view to upload manually. It can be done in Modern view on the Activities page via the "Import" link.

But again, why not just fix Garmin Express so that it does the uploading as it's supposed to?
  • 4.0.7 Express seems working with sync....
    which version are using? os...
