Cannot install maps to Nuvi 2597LMT

Just bought the Nuvi 2597, tried to update maps use GE, maps downloaded but will not install, it appears on the list of devices but all it does is keep saying to connect a device. The device is connected. Unit has been registered. So deleted from the list and re-added it, same, no good. Just another time consuming experience to sort problems out that i don't know if they are mine or not. The garmin Comminicator plug- in (GCP) wont work with Chrome either, not sure if that is relevent tho but I cannot use the old system map updater as it needs the GCP. Anybody got any ideas before I admit defeat and return it.

I have located your myGarmin account and see that you have a Nuvi 2597 Australia & New Zealand device. I went ahead and tested the map update process of your device. I added your device to my Express and performed the map update. The update completed and I see that a new 2015.40 unlock code was generated for your device. I am unsure what is happening when you said it "will not install". Do you have any more detail on this? Is there any error message? Does the download start and then stop half way through? Do you hit install and Express does nothing? Please provide as much information as possible to better help you.

As to the other issue you brought up with Garmin Communicator Plugin (CPI) and Google Chrome. Chrome is no longer a supported browser with Garmin CPI .

Then you need to change the following: http://software.garmin.com/en-US/gcp.html#compatibility
