Garmin Express 4.0

Hi, Just downloaded version 4.0.2.0 and I do not see how I can download the map to myb PC from this new version. I see your discussion above but cannot see 'Installation Options' anywhere... please help

There is no new map to download. Once there is you will see the screen I posted. Is there any reason why you need to download the map (which map?) to your PC right now?

I started up a new PC and loaded BC onto it so I needed a new copy of the map. I worked around it by copying the map from my old PC but it would have been preferred to get it from Garmin. I'll look into JAVAWA as well...

Well if I was updating my OS I'd use JaVaWa's GMTK to move my maps from one to another. I have around 10 maps installed so wouldn't want to use any other method.

If it's just the one map and GE works as you say (I haven't tried it) I'd simply create a cloned device that would fool GE into doing the download to my new PC.

Of course you could also simply download v3.2.29 and use that.

So there are many options to achieve what you need.

Then try to create clone device and let me know if you can download PC install again if you have this version already downloaded and installed.
Tell me please why we then have new version 4.0 if i must downgrade back to 3.2.29 if i like to install on PC?

If GE is for downloading maps then i don't know why i must use other options to achieve download the same map on PC with new OS, Garmin then can remove version 4.0 if they don't work like he must.
With every new update of GE we have more and more bugs and function that work in previous version in new don't work anymore and people get pay for this mistake.

Here is not problem if we need now again to download the same map or not but problem is if we get error when we will download new map becouse we will not have option to download it again, do you see what i try to tell you?

Put GE in trash and add back map updater that work like charm all the way.

MapUpdater isn't going to make a return, as to your other points the Express team may answer them (note from my signature I'm not a Garmin employee, just a user like you). Incidentally MapUpdater also had bugs and didn't work for some.

Just out of curiosity... how do you create a cloned device?

You install it on clone device or only try to download it?
If you only try to download then you can again see all option but when you install it then no more option to install it again.

I try install it on clone device and i can't, the same problem as rkjendal.

Who we can conntact to tell about this bug?

Use a USB stick or memory card, create a folder named Garmin and copy the GarminDevice.xml file from your device to the Garmin folder on the stick/card.

Problem when selecting "Vehicles and Voices" option

Everything seems to be working okay in Express 4 except when I select "Vehicles and Voices" option. I get the following error message" "Server Error - We're having trouble communicating with our servers".

Is this a temporary system problem or a problem with Express 4.0?
