I posted this previously but it was locked and closed by Curt without any answer given.
MapUpdater is running fine on this PC but is not giving me the option to download the latest map to my computer. Please read my original post properly and advise.

"Once again I am having problems with the latest map update for my Zumo and Nuvi devices.

I have been able to update the GPS devices but I am unable to update Basecamp on my computer.

When I try to update the computer with Garmin Express V3.2.28.0 I get an error message "Garmin Elevated Installer has encountered an Error and needs to close" the map software continues to download but gets stuck in "Configuring" stage. I left it running all night but was still in "Configuring" phase this morning.

I tried to update Garmin Express to the latest version 4.0.2.0 and a window appears to advise my OS (XP Sp3) is not compatible with the latest version and directs me to use MapUpdater V3.3.4. When I run this program I get a window with "A Map is Available to Purchase" or "Exit" options only. If I choose the "A Map is Available to Purchase" it takes me to the Garmin Shop.
As I have Lifetime Maps on both my devices I do not need to purchase maps".

How can I update Basecamp to the latest map version?

I have found the new map has downloaded into the "Core Update Service" directory on my HD. I have copied and pasted the .GMP directory into the "Maps" directory and Basecamp can now see the new map. I then had to unlock the new map with the unlock code from MyGarmin and all appears to be working.

As a self funded retiree I do not have the available resources to constantly buy the latest and greatest computer hardware and software.

I have owned my Zumo for just on 12 months and have not been able to simply update any of the map releases with the Garmin software. Each update has required a different solution. I should not have to go to all this trouble for a simple update for my GPS device and Basecamp.

XP is no longer supported by Microsoft. It's perhaps not surprising that it's causing you issues. Good to know that with perseverance you were able to overcome it.
