Problem installing Garmin Express

Purchased NUVI 2598 Feb. 20, 2015 at Costco and have tried without success (Failed to Install) to install Garmin Express v3.2.29.0 to update the NUVI. Read the forums but no luck following instructions and agree with forum postings that there is something inherently wrong with this software and product support. Will return to Costco for refund and very disappointed with Garmin product and support. Time to switch to another GPS provider.
  • Well you may be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire as there are many instances of folks struggling with TT software etc also. Invariably it's a PC rather than Express problem, as an example I've been running Express for many years without issue. Given the small number of complaints versus the millions using Express successfully it's difficult to justify a 'something inherently wrong' comment.

As you simply say 'you've had no luck following instructions' it's also difficult to know what you've tried and/or exactly where the install is failing, perhaps with a bit more information you might get some help. However as a start you might try this (if not already done so):

@RossOj, I hope you are really looking for a solution rather than a place to vent. I agree that most of the time a problem with Express is caused by the device or the computer.

So, one thing to try is to close all other running programs and restart the computer. One reason for this is to be able to see pop up messages that sometimes might be hidden behind other running programs.

Run the install as an Administrator - right click on the downloaded install file and choose "Run as Administrator"
