Win 10, Forerunn405CX Garmin Express. Cannot transfer data

Former Member

I would like to transfer my training information off my Forerunner 405CX (Ant+) and put it on to Garmin Connect. Even better, forget about Garmin Connect and just get it onto my PC.

Garmin express knows what kind of Garmin Device I have, and gives me a pretty little spinner, but nothing else seems to happen.

Here is a log. Any suggestions?

Many thanks

regards,
/alan

So the Forerunner 405CX shows up to add to Garmin Express, yet when you click on "Add Device" is this where you are getting the orange spinner? What should happen is it will ask you to sign into your account or create a new one. This operates by using a mini web browser in the application in order to bring up the Single Sign On (SSO) window. It's possible if this is not coming up that an internet setting could be blocking the program. I would make sure that any firewalls or proxy settings are set to default or turned off to allow Garmin Express to connect properly.

Also, I'm just throwing this out there, Windows 10 is not yet officially supported as it is not even in Consumer Preview yet. That doesn't mean that Garmin Express will not necessarily work, yet it could be a factor at this point and there may be a lot of variables that we would be unable to test on our end. I would go ahead and treat this at this point as a connection issue and try following the steps in this article How do I correct the Unable to connect with Garmin Services error message in Garmin Express?

If this doesn't work, I would recommend trying this device with a supported OS for the time being.
