Forerunner 620 Firware Update 3.20

I have been trying to update my software but get "not enough space for update", I select continue with update and it does nothing. Ive read through the forums and have seen some suggestions to go into the files and delete languages which I have done, Ive looked for a trashes folder but am unable to find one and cant see anything else that can be deleted. I have emailed Garmin but have never received a reply from them to date so am at a loss what to do.

Could anyone please help?

Thank you,

Unless you are using the device on a Mac, you should not have a trashes folder. That being said, the device should have enough space for a firmware update. You may have some corruption on the device. We can try a chkdsk on the unit:
How do I run a check disk or disk utility on my Garmin mass storage device?

If you continue to have problems, please contact support

Thanks for your response Albert. It is a PC that I am using. I did the check disk and no errors were found. I have emailed support twice but have not had a response.

Usually if you email support the response will be within 24-48 business hours. This being said it may be quicker to contact support directly by phone. I have looked up your display name in our system and see that you are in Australia. Please contact:
    Australia Customer Support: 1800 235 822
    Australia Fax Number: 02 9679 3450

    New Zealand Customer Support: 0800 427 652
    New Zealand Fax Number: 0800 427 646

What you can also do is since when running a CHKDSK there were no errors you can explore the (FR 620)/Garmin drive open the folders and view if there is any additional files that have been added to the device. These files could be files that might have been backed up to the 620 by accident by your computer.

You can also locate your activities and if there is a huge amount of data still here or in any other folder you can try cutting this data out and pasting it in a folder some where on your PC. Once this has been done you should be able to delete anything as you have just backed it up on your PC. Now try re doing the update and see if you get the same error. If the update goes through restart the watch and then plug it back into the PC. Now that the update has been completed copy the files you removed back to your 620.
