Express stopped downloading workouts to my 410

Prior to the last update I was able to download workouts from Connect to my Forerunner 410 from the calendar in Connect. Since I only did it every few weeks it wasn't until this week that I tried again and it would not work. I can upload my activities to Connect just fine. I tried every fix I could find in these forums with no luck. I finally called Support and was told that you can only download one workout at a time to the 410 - that's the way the device was made. I replied that I have been able to download the workouts from the calendar on Connect for the 2 years that I've owned the device, up until now. In fact, the workout even kept the date stamp because the watch would bring up the workout for that day in the time function. It seems this is something that was broken by the last Express update, since the last time I tried and it worked was at the end of December. It's frustrating to have a useful feature that I've relied on for 2 years suddenly taken away with the explanation that it shouldn't have worked in the first place. If something was changed in the last update to make it not work, whether intentionally or unintentionally, it seems like there would be a way to restore that function.

Has anyone had the same experience? Better yet has anyone found a workaround?
  • If you've updated Express try deleting then reassociating your 410 with Express.

I am sorry that you are having trouble downloading workouts from the calendar. It appears that Garmin Connect is trying to send an incompatible file type when you try to send all of the calendar data to older devices. We have an open case on this right now and are working to resolve this issue. In the meantime, you can send the calendar from Classic View and then sync with Express to get the workouts to your device:

    • From Modern, click the head and shoulders icon on the left
    • Click Switch to Classic Temporarily
    • Click Calendar from the Plan menu
    • Click the send arrow at the top right corner of the calendar
    • Follow the instructions to send the workouts to the device
    • Open Garmin Express and sync the device

  • Thank you. Do I try that without Ant Agent installed? I uninstalled Ant Agent as part of troubleshooting thinking it might be causing a conflict.

You shouldn't need to install ANT Agent. Garmin Express knows to check the ANT Agent folders as well.
