Installation Error when installing Lower 49 States

Hi,
I have been trying to update my Nuvi 50LM with the Lower 49 States 2015.30. Express recognizes the device, and the software updates downloaded just fine. It's when the Lower 49 States 2015.30 is installing up to 30% ;or with about 4 minutes remaining; the device just shuts off. Of course it than will display the "Installation Error" , as the device just disconnected by shutting off. What is the cause for it to behave like this? In the process, my existing maps on it have disappeared. I have tried another map I have on microSD, and the device works just fine with it. I have it connected to the PC, with no data being transferred, and it hasn't turned off yet. The data has been downloaded to a new 32Gb MicroSD card, so space should not be an issue.
Thanks, John

On the 32 Gb MicroSD there are 2 Folders: Garmin and Private

In the Garmin folder there are 4 files:

    gmapprom.gma 3 KB
    gmapprom.unl 1 KB
    gmapprom.img 1,628,576 KB
    gmappupdate.gsd 0 KB

The Private folder in the end contains 1 file : pit.bin 46.9 KB
    (private -> ds -> app -> 484E494A ->pit.bin )

    The Nuvi software Versions:
    Nuvi 50 : 4.00
    GPS: 3.00
    Text: 4.00 (American English)
    Keyboard: 2.40 (American English)
    Audio: 1.20 (American English Samantha)

    Basemap NR5.01

Detailed Maps: Is blank after a ©

The battery is charged ( It dropped a bar after all the trying to install 2015.30.)

    I hope this will help?
    Thanks, John

Problem solved: Defective Garmin USB cable!
I found a new generic USB cable, and tried it as a last effort ... and it worked. I was holding my breath the whole time it got passed the 30% mark though.
The Garmin cable made the trip to the trash bin, and I will use this generic one instead.

    Thanks, John
