Edge 510 - No connection

Hi

My Edge 510 did an update recently, when I turned it on this morning I had to go through the settings again but all worked fine once I had completed them.

I had a ride, everything worked as it should do, turned off the Edge 510 once finished and when I turned it back on again so it could connect to my Android phone via Bluetooth to upload the ride to Garmin Connect, I could not connect via Bluetooth. This is the first time it has not been able to connect. I tried several times, turning Bluetooth on\off on both devices, rebooting devices, forgetting pairing etc - it would not connect.

So I tried the trusty USB connection via my PC, however Garmin Express (latest version 3.2.19.0) cannot see the device either. Again I've tried rebooting, disconnecting etc but nothing has worked. The device shows up in Windows Explorer as a Garmin Edge 510 so the PC can see the device itself, but Garmin Express cannot since the device update.

The Garmin Connect Modern UI does not see the device either.

Connecting via USB or Bluetooth has never been an issue in the past, it normally works great. The issue only started after the recent update to the device itself. The software Version is 3.40. There have been no changes\updates to either the Android phone or the Windows 7 PC (all updates are managed manually).

Can anyone help me get my device to connect either via USB or Bluetooth?

Thanks in advance

The 1st thing I noticed is that you indicated you are running Express version 3.2.19. Now this probably doesn't have anything to do with Express not seeing the device but you will want to update Express to the latest version just in case. The current version that Express software is 3.2.27. See the FAQ: How do I update Garmin Express? Once Express has been update see if the device can be detected with Express. If the issue still persists try manually upload your data to Garmin Connect. Once the data has been uploaded I would suggest a Master Reset of the device. See FAQ: How do I master reset my Edge 510, 810, 1000, Touring or Touring Plus? If after doing this the Edge 510 is still not being seen by Express you may want to contact support.

    Hi Mike

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried the Garmin Express Update in the settings and get the message I have the latest version. I did download the Garmin Express installer today but there is no way to know if this is 3.2.27 or not before installing. Is there a direct download link to the latest version? Is it the one on the website?

This evening I have managed to connect via Bluetooth by forgetting the devices on both the phone and edge 510 but my ride from this morning will not upload via connect or manually by using Upload Ride, I get a message saying Upload Failed on the edge 510.

Using the Garmin Connect app, when it does connect via Bluetooth initially I get the syncing to device message and it says sync complete, but the ride does not upload.

This is the same using an Android phone and an iPad.

As mentioned, I had none of these issues before the v3.4 software update.

    Thanks

Garmin released Garmin Express version 3.2.28 yesterday. Here is the direct link for the installer download.
