Garmin express "install failed. Try again" again, again, and again and....... Nothing

I have windows vista, and despite of the new version (3.2.27.0) it does not work.
Waiting for a solution.

    express install fails

    Running windows 7
    Tried every work around posted in these forums. This is absolutely a pain..I just got a new watch for Christmas and sure would like to download my run info. Very... very frustrated with the product. Also brand new laptop running windows 8.1 ......guess what fails to install.....about ready to return the watch. .not happy customer.

    Same here. Running Windows 7 and tried installing 3.2.27.0 for the past 2 days

    I'm also using windows 7 and was having the same problem however today after reading through a lot of the treads the following worked:

    1. Click on start or Press the Windows key+R
    2. Type "services.msc" and press Enter
    3. Click on services
    4. Scroll down and look for Windows installer
    5. Right click and press start


    You should then try to install - worked for me after a week of trying :)

    This install is an absolute joke, I have tried this and many other work arounds to try and install this software.. so very frustrated at this point I can not even express my opinion of this install and software. Someone fix this issue PLEASE! .

    I'm seeing the error below when trying to install v3.2.27.0, downloaded from Garmin earlier today.

    I have attempted to run as Administrator. I also stopped and restarted the Windows Installer service. I always see the same error.

    Service 'Garmin Core Update Service' (Garmin Core Update Service) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services.


    This service is listed but not running. It cannot be started ('Start' is grey and cannot be selected).

    The system OS is Windows 8.1. Any suggestions?

    I'm sure it's frustrating for you but most folks install Express without issue, I'm sure the Express team will be along shortly to help. There was an earlier issue that was creating temporary installation problems but without you explaining what your problem was in detail I'm not sure whether it applies to you or not.

    Downloaded express vi fIrefox, takes like 5 min to finish the last 1sec as it indicates ...seems odd. double click .EXE to install and then I click the RUN button, begins to install then I get the Failed. try Again? or Exit. I tried to post the picture in this post using the tools .....But that does not work either ..not to my suprise.
  • I am sorry that you you are having trouble installing Garmin Express.

    FORESTPLAY

    Make sure that you are logged into an administrator account on the computer. If you are experiencing this while signed in to an administrator account there may also be a problem with the .NET framework. To resolve issues with the .NET Framework, download and run Microsoft's .NET Framework Repair Tool:

    If you are still having trouble, it is most commonly caused by permission issues on in the folders that the Garmin Core Update service writes to so it would be best to contact Product Support by phone.

    Why do I receive a "Failed. Try again?" error message when installing Garmin Express on a PC?

    If this does not solve your problem, it would be best to contact Product Support by phone so that we can troubleshoot the problem.

    I installed the repair tool, rebooted and installed Garmin Express without a hitch. Thanks for the suggestion.
