Map and download issues...

How did you 'manage to get the UK map onto it'?

What do you see when you go to Settings, Map and Vehicle, myMaps on your nuvi?

I haven't got the UK map on it.
I got the map updater working at about 1am this morning after hours of errors which says the 2015.30 map is on it.
When I go to the mymaps I have one option which is
CN Europe NTU 2015.30 Central Region

Ah OK, then you've just downloaded Central Region. Run Express and go to the Device tab, change the region where it gives you the option to reinstall or change regions.

It doesn't give me an option to change or get new maps. It only gives me the map that's already in it

Are you sure you're looking at the Device tab in Express, and not the Updates tab?

If it's not showing are you sure the device came with a full European map and not simply Central Region? Your lifetime maps only apply to the map that came pre-installed on your GPS.

I am sorry for the troubles. Your Nuvi 2445LT was preloaded with Central Europe so a map update will only install the Central Europe map on the device. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi, thanks for the responses.

After being in contact with the company we bought it off and Garmin, it was loaded with Central Europe maps. However it came with a lifetime Europe maps update which we have been told should overwrite the Central Europe map and include the UK maps. I have bought an 8gb memory card which is not being recognised by Garmin express.
So I am once again stuck...

Any help would be appreciated

I'm not sure who told you that but they are possibly wrong. A LMT model, which is lifetime maps and traffic, will only update those maps originally installed on the device.

IF however you buy a EU lifetime update after you've bought a GPS that doesn't come with it then you get the full EU map. It's what I did when I bought my 2508 with only the UK map.

Now, looking at what Curt posted above you bought a 2445LT, not LMT which is the lifetime map updates model, so I'm slightly confused as to what may apply in your case.

You need to clarify exactly what model you purchased and how you got lifetime maps?

The lifetime maps is the full Europe map according to the Garmin guy we spoke to after he checked.
If this doesn't work they said they'll change it but I'd rather see if I can get it working.
The new issue is that when putting the sd card in the unit it won't register that it's there, it just says you might need to buy a memory card...
I also don't get the option to purchase new maps in express.

I have the 2445LT but the people we got it off included a separate lifetime Europe update to make it include UK and Ireland.

A preloaded LMU device will update the preloaded map region only. Disregard any other conflicting information. You will want to exchange the device for one preloaded with Full Coverage Europe.
