Hi I recently purchased a garmin fenix and for some reason my tracks never get uploaded on my connect acct.

I have express on my laptop and it says all is well but nothing gets uploaded on my connect.

I also have been able to use live track with my mobile and even saw my messages and calls during the ride from my phone in my watch but I can never get my tracks uploaded.

Help please! Thanks

Devices:
Garmin fenix
Laptop win 7
Mobile Samsung young 2 OS android 4.4.2

I am sorry that you are having trouble uploading your tracks. In order for the tracks to be uploaded automatically in Garmin Express, you will need to make sure that the files are saved as FIT files or GPX and FIT files as Garmin Express does not upload from the GPX folder on the device. The following article refers to Uploads in Classic Connect but the instructions apply to Garmin Express as well:
Why don't tracks on my fenix/tactix appear in Garmin Connect?

    Thank you Jason,

After reading some other forums I had changed the output to gpx/fit then tried syncing it again but still nothing.

I guess I need to hop on my bike tomorrow morning and make a new track to see if it works.

I'm also guessing this setup of gpx/fit will also consume more memory since it will start saving 2 separate files of the same ride.

Thanks again for the quick reply!
    Cheers
  • Anything outputting GPX is going to fill your memory up fast - on the other hand the FIT files are small (I don't think I've created one larger than 1.5Mbytes - and that was a 6 hour epic)

That's good to know. But as I have set it to GPS/FIT it will still make a double copy so double the space. I'll try it out first and just select FIT if I don't see much use for the GPS copies

    Thanks for the help!
  • No - GPX will create much larger files - something like 2Mbyte/hour - FIT file for that would be around 200-300kbyte/hr
