Can't upload to Garmin Connect

I have been using ANT agent with no issues. Now it stopped working, tried to install express. It didn't work. Reinstalled 6 times. 2 x deleting all Garmin stuff. Did not work. Now tried to go back to ANT agent and it isn't working! Plus as I live in Germany I only get a german download. No option to have it in English. What can be done? Thank you.

I am sorry that you are having trouble. I would recommend using Garmin Express going forward. I am not sure what you may have downloaded as we do not have a German download of Garmin Express or ANT Agent (the language is chosen when you install express based on your computer settings). Please follow the instructions in the article below to install Garmin Express:
How do I install Garmin Express on the computer?

If you are getting an error when trying to install Garmin Express, please follow the instructions here:
Why do I receive a "Failed. Try again?" error message when installing Garmin Express on a PC?

If you are having trouble with this process, please make sure to include details in your post about what you are having trouble with so that we can determine the cause of the problem.

Thank you for the help. I do live in German so do have a german OS, but most software will let me change Language. Garmin not, still that isn't really the problem.

Have Re installed Express after taking ANT Agent off. Express will not sync. It starts and then stops part way though the process.

Thank you again for the help.

I am living in Germany and am having the same problem since yesterday. I am using Garmin Express a few months now without too many problems but sync wont work at all now. My Forerunner 610 transfers the data to Express but Express wont sync with Garmin connect. It starts working but the status bar stops after a few seconds and doesnt move even if left for several hours. I uninstalled and re-installed Express and removed old files on my watch but it hasnt helped. Please let me know how to fix this. As I said, up until yesterday Garmin Express worked fine on my laptop since I've installed it several months ago. Thanks.
  • I'm not in Germany, I'm in the UK, but my Express stopped syncing this weekend. Prior to that I'd been having issues for a week or so with it making several attempts before succeeding, but nothing since the weekend. Nor do I have a 610, I have a 410. Express says it has uploaded, but my runs don't appear in my account to view. Trying again just results in a message that there's nothing to upload. At least they haven't been nuked from the watch!

There might be some files left over from the ANT Agent. Please remove the device from Express, choose to remove it from Garmin Connect as well. This will not delete any activities already uploaded but it will clear the Sync menu in Connect. Use the instructions below to delete any remnants of the device from the computer.

    1. Delete the contents of the C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devic es\
    2. Press the Windows Key + R key together
    3. Type this exactly, %Appdata%
    4. Click OK
    5. Open the Garmin folder
    6. Open the Devices folder
    7. Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)

Restart the computer then pair the device with Express.

As a last resort you might try master resetting the device. The instructions can be found at Garmin Support

Let us know if you continue to have troubles.

    Hello.

I have followed your instructions, only haven't done a reset. Still not working.

What else can be done? Or is the only course of action a reset?

Or do I wipe all Garmin files (that I can find) and start again and hope that helps?

    I have fixed the problem.

In the end I did a reset of my watch and that seems to have fixed the problem!

Huge thanks Curt from Garmin for his help!
