Express not syncing - server errors

When trying to sync through Express I get this error:
TypeError: deviceDescriptionDoc.getElementsByTagName(...)[0].childNodes[0] is undefined
I have unattached the 500 from Garmin, but now can't re-attach it I have the message on screen Device found and "There was a problem communicating with Garmin Servers. Please try later."
I can see the 500 as a storage device on the computer.
Is there a problem with the server?

It was all OK yesterday, it seems to have gone wrong since uploading 'Time Zone Update' Any thoughts.

OK, I've sorted it. I deleted the Device.fit file and the GarminDevice.xml files, re booted the 500 and it can now be attached to Express and will sync. I've taken a backup of the whole unit just in case.
