Not uploading activities in Express

I have a Forerunner 210 with data from about 50 activities on it (haven't uploaded anything in a while). Tried doing so today and had to install Express.

Express shows my device is connected but it does not indicate how I can link my device to my Connect account so activities can be uploaded. If it matters, the image for my device has a big question mark on it even shows as being connected. My device is registered with Garmin.

I have read lots of posts with similar complaints but haven't seen anything that solves my problem.

If someone would kindly explain how to link my device to my Connect account so the activities can be uploaded I would greatly appreciate it.

Update: I was able to upload all activities by reverting to the old version of Connect (i.e., not the "modern" version) and using the Garmin Communicator plugin. This approach was easy and flawless, just as it had always been before. Still doesn't resolve the problem with Express, although it provides a temporary workaround.

    Your description of Express indicates that something is blocking its ability to communicate with Garmin. If Garmin Express is communicating with Garmin it will download the device image, manuals, and then prompt you to create a new Connect account or Sync with an existing account.

    Please make sure Garmin Express is up to date and that any local Internet Security applications, Proxy Servers are allowing Express access to the internet. Use the information in the FAQ's below:
