Activities will not upload

I updated Garmin Express two days ago. Activities transfer from my 405CX to the ANT and when I open the ANT on my computer it says that the activities were sent to Garmin Connect but they are not showing up. On Sunday it took a long time for them to appear half an hour, tonight it has been an hour and nothing. Previous to the update the transfer was instantaneous. What gives?

Garmin Express should have uninstalled the Garmin ANT Agent. If you continue to have trouble uninstall the ANT Agent software, delete the Forerunner 405CX from Garmin Express then pair it again. Even though your activities did finally load use the instructions in the FAQ below to correct the issue.

What troubleshooting options can I try when my ANT enabled fitness device will not upload data?

I have to say this is getting extremely frustrating. Express just keeps telling me my ANT isn't connected, it is. If I turn on the ANT agent the ANT works fine but then the software says ANT agent is blocking Express from uploading activities and to turn off the ANT agent. Turn it off and Express says ANT isn't connected. I have removed the device and tried to re synch it. Express will do nothing. ANT agent will get data off the watch.

I have wasted too much time on this. Can I go back to the old software? This update sucks and I don't want anything this complicated and annoying. I have uploaded several hundred activities without a hitch, now it is all but useless.

The reason that ANT Agent is uninstalled when you install Garmin Express is because it will interfere with the detection of the ANT Stick by Garmin Express. If you had ANT Agent running when Garmin Express was started, you will most likely need to close ANT Agent and then unplug and plug back in the ANT Stick.

If there are some activities that are still on the watch but are not sending to Garmin Connect, you can set Force Send to Yes on the watch. To set Force Send to Yes:
    • Press and hold MENU on the Forerunner 405CX
    • Select Settings
    • Select ANT +
    • Select Computer
    • Select Force Send to set Yes

None of the suggestions worked, Jason. After spending way to much of my life trying to figure out something that should be a simple plug and play, I came up with a better idea. I dumped Express off my computer and everything works automatically and flawlessly again.

I have lost a couple of activities, forever I suppose, but it is a small price to pay to end the frustration of having about $1000.00 worth of Garmin equipment rendered useless because of a poorly conceived update. I will not be updating again but thanks for your time.

My latest activity will not upload with my 910xt. Express seems to scan the watch - the 910xt shows the bars - but then Garmin Connect claims everyting is up to date. Except it isn't because there is an activity on my watch from today that is not on Connect.

Is there a "force upload" option for the 910xt? I don't know of any way to list the activities currently the watch on the computer so that I can select the one I want to upload, and Connect doesn't seem to think it needs to upload the new one.

You might also re-enter your credentials in Express. Select the 910XT from the drop down menu then click the Device menu. Scroll down to the Garmin Connect Account section. Click Change Account and re-enter your credentials.

Then send your History again. On the 910XT go to Settings-->History-->Transfer All
