Garmin express crashes on start on win 7

I've installed 3.2.19.0 after some troubles (I had to turn of the firewall). The icon in the toolbar appears, but any attempt at launching the application results in "An unexpected error has occurred …"

It may or may not be related to a problem with UAC popping up requesting to run:
Program Name: A tool to aid in developing services for WindosNT
Program Location: "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\sc.exe" start "Garmin Core Update Service"

In the beginning this always happened when trying to launch the application. Now it happens sporadically, and often after the crash.

Any ideas would be helpful!

If you are getting this UAC prompt, the Garmin Core Update Service is not starting successfully. Since you mentioned that you had to disable your firewall to install Garmin Express, it is possible that there is security software running that is blocking the application from running as well. I would recommend temporarilly disabling any security software or creating an exception for the Garmin Core Update Service.

If this does not solve the problem, there could also be an issue with the Microsoft.NET Framework. To resolve an issue with Microsoft .NET Framework, download and run Microsoft's .NET Framework Repair Tool:
