Windows 8.1 - Garmin Express > Device Found 910xt > There was a problem communicatin

Again Garmin software decides to mysteriously stop working...

So clean wipe of all Garmin software from my Windows 8.1 Microsoft Surface Pro 2...again!!!!! this has happened many times.
restarted computer

Reinstalled communicator login v 4.20
Reinstalled Garmin Express Software v 3.2.19.0
Restarted computer


Click Getting Started>>

What I see on screen

Device Found
Forerunner 910XT
Serial Number: (...There is nothing shown here....)
"There was a problem communicating with the Garmin Server. Please try again later."

and...

A button saying "Ignore"

>>>>click ignore and the process starts again.....

Try to go to website Garmin Connect.....
In modern view it loops you back to going down the garmin express path again.....

In classic view, can click upload button it states:

Reading activities from Forerunner 910XT, please wait... >>>>forever!!!!! cant get past this.

Seriously have reached a new level of frustrated with this now.

Any solutions!???

    I am sorry for the troubles. This message usually means that Garmin Express does not have access to the Garmin Core Update Service on the computer or the Core Update Service is not running. Please see the FAQ article: How do I correct the Unable to connect with Garmin Services error message in Garmin Express?

    If you did not manually uninstall Garmin ANT Agent before you started using Garmin Express there might be some older ANT Agent files interfering as well.

    Delete the contents of the C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\
    1. Press the Windows Key + R key together
    2. Type this exactly, %Appdata%
    3. Click OK
    4. Open the Garmin folder
    5. Open the Devices folder
    6. Delete the numbered folder (unit id of the fitness device)

    The last resort option would be to master reset the 910XT. How do I master reset my Forerunner 910XT?

    I am having the same issue with the same model of watch. I have tried all of the steps listed above, and also have performed a master reset of my 910xt. What would you suggest next?

    I have a very similar issue on a FOrerunner 110. every 4th or 5th activity i get the error about problems communicating with the Garmin servers. I've tried everythign, this device is close to going in the trash. please help
